PDF Encrypt is a tool that lets you encrypt PDF files with an encryption level of 40 bits, 128 bits or AES encryption. It also lets you, from the program interface, change the PDF permissions, and add new user passwords for those associated to that PDF.

A clear example of the restrictions or permissions you can apply with PDF Encrypt is that you can see it but not print it. You can also limit the options of copy and paste of texts, depending on the user that opens it each time. This way, you can maintain the security and privacy of the content of each PDF.

For PDF Encrypt to work correctly you don`t need to install Adobe Acrobat. You can also run PDF Encrypt from the Windows command line, and reference it from various programming languages.
